E30. Getting Out of the Personal Development Trap (and how to accelerate growth!)
Oct 22, 2021
Would you call yourself a personal development junkie?
I AM a personal development junkie for sure!
But here’s the thing - it’s easy for us as entrepreneurs to get TRAPPED in personal development. How do you get OUT of eternal learning mode and INTO accelerated results?
I love personal development. I think that learning is a common piece of the DNA of successful human beings. We're meant to grow. We're meant to expand.
However, I think that personal development is a place where it's really easy to get stuck to where you're not seeing results.
It gets in the way of a lot of entrepreneurs’ paths if they are trending on the lower half of the energetic scale.
They're trending in discouragement or in hopelessness or in shame or in guilt or in worthiness. And if you're trending in that energy, that's what you're attracting.
It's the law of attraction. Remember, it is always working for you or against you.
Here's a preview of the episode:
[3:13] Your job is to become an energetic match to the things that you already ask for and when you're being the vibe that matches what you've asked for then you rendezvous with those things.
[6:12] Law of Attraction is always working for you.
[6:27] If you can learn to shift your focus and be a different vibe, then you can attract anything you want into your life.
[7:13] Successful people develop themselves out of eagerness for growth and expansion.
[9:39] What matters is where your energy is, where the vibe is, The vibe that you are being, and that's all law of attraction is.
Think about successful entrepreneurs who read and learn regularly and struggling entrepreneurs who can't seem to integrate and live what they're learning.
Do you know what's the difference between these people?
Successful people develop themselves out of an eagerness for growth and expansion. They develop themselves out of an eagerness to continue growing, to continue their success.
On the other hand, unsuccessful people develop themselves out of a place of struggle, out of a feeling of inadequacy and unworthiness.
And that's why it is so important to be aware of why you are reading a book or listening to a podcast. You have to do these things from the positive end of the spectrum.
Makes sense, right?
Let me share with you a simple framework that I like to use when choosing personal development books.
Reading is fun, learning is fun, especially when you do them for the right reasons.
Never stop growing.
Andrew
